What does Christmas mean to you?

What does Christmas mean to you?

I am not going to lie, I am Christmas' biggest fan!

I love everything about it, from the gift shopping to the parties, the Christmas tree, which I normally like to decorate by mid November while listening to Christmas carols... All types of songs, the old, the new, and the classical ones -  especially when sang by Michael Bubble (there goes my secret crush on him ssssshhh). From the mince pie and mulled wine, to all the wonderful winter smells of burning candles, what is not to love?

Why do I love Christmas so much?

Well what can I say...

Other than the obvious celebrations of my faith, and the exchanging of gifts (of course), what truly makes it special for me is the fact that all the family comes together to enjoy this special celebration, and to spend some wonderful time all together! And for me, truth to be told, nothing can beat family time!

I hope you are as excited and looking forward to spending quality time with your loved ones like I am, and if you’re not quite there yet, we have a few little tips to get you in the festive spirit.

If you are feeling a little anxious, panic not! I know there can be a lot going on at this time to send us into a frenzy - getting gifts for everyone is stressful, cooking for so many people can be difficult, or simply because being with "the in laws" can be a handful, try to take a different approach this season and pause a little to truly reflect upon what is important, what does Christmas mean to you and how would you like to honour that?

Do not take things personally! If someone doesn't like your cooking or your gift it is their problem to solve, not yours! You know that you are doing the best you can and sadly you can’t always please everyone, but keep that smile going and know that there are far more that are grateful for your efforts that those that can’t quite see it.

  • Do not be afraid to delegate chores to other family members. You don’t have to be the one doing everything and looking wonderful while doing it too! Think of the extra hands as a lovely way to mix different traditions and tastes, it might even add a little fun new spin to your Christmas.

  • Be kind and generous with your words & your actions (and an awesome gift if you insist) It is a time of year to be grateful for loved ones, so don’t just show it with a lovely present, but remember the little things that count and get ready to spread some joy.

  • Lastly remember: It's the season to be jolly! And grateful, and thankful for you are blessed with wonderful people that love you!!

Hope you have the Christmas you have always wished for!

Happy Christmas And Feliz Navidad!
