Find our what Karla has to say on travel, wanting to see the world and her favourite quote... oh and the smoothie bowl that might just make her a breakfast person after all!
Talk us through your morning routine?
I normally wake up by a kiss from one of my three beautiful kids, best way to start the day!!! I wear my workout gear, wash my face and brush my teeth, and go down to serve breakfast, prep lunch boxes and school runs... Luckily I have help at home, so it's a smooth start! I work out as soon as I get back from dropping the kids off, a good 30/45 min pilates session which I follow with a home made green juice!!! I'm free from 10 am to do all the errands needed for both home and or work...
Hahaha, that's a tough one because I am not really a breakfast person! I guess on the weekends I sometimes have an omelette, but I must say, recently in Bali I had an amazing bowl of smoothie with some fresh cut bananas and some lovely things on top that could make me turn into a breakfast person!
Smoothie or juice of choice?
My morning green juice is made from fresh spinach, ginger, cucumber, celery, green apple and a bit of orange juice!
Your favourite place to meditate?
At the beach, with the sound of the waves, the wind and sun on my face, the smell of the sea... My happy place!
Where is the most magical place you have practiced yoga?
I will say recently in Bali, at the Temple Lodge... There was something about that session that felt unique and different.
Your dream holiday destination?
Tough one! The whole world really!!! But if I have to chose one right now would be the Caribbean! I have never been to any of the so many beautiful islands, and I come from Venezuela!!! Shame on me! Or to visit Peru, I hear the food and Machupichu are equally incredible!!!
The three things you can’t travel without?
Passport, wallet and credit cards! Hahahaha
What’s the best thing about visiting a new country?
Learning about the history through people's lips... Their experience and perception says a lot more than books or Google can say... A must visit stop for me is always, believe it or not, a supermarket!
The first thing you do when you get home from a trip?
Depends on the time I arrive, but I always take a moment to be grateful for having travelled and returned safely!
Can you share with us any Mantras or positive affirmations that mean something to you?
As a teenager I memorised a phrase from Louis Hay "You Can Heal Your Life": " In the infinity of life, where I am, everything is perfect, whole and complete. All is well in my world"
